WHAT IS THE EDDEN PROJECT?
For nearly a decade Rhum J.M has actively strived to make improvements in our production techniques that will benefit the environment. The Edden Project goes a step further. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to preserving and protecting mother earth for future generations by utilizing a three-pillar system to actively engage in sustainable improvements pertaining to all aspects of our production.

OUR MISSION: LISTEN TO THE EARTH
In order to preserve its organic nutrients, the natural richness of our land must be protected and maintained. At Rhum J.M., we believe that the essential part of agricultural work does not happen on the surface with our machines and teams, but rather underground. In order for this unique soil to continue to produce high quality sugarcane, we cultivate it respectfully and carefully, resorting to crop rotation of bananas and sugarcane, but also by leaving the land fallow to regenerate. Vegetables are then planted, enabling us to ajust nitrogen levels and enhance the growth of the sugarcane. To preserve richness in the soil over time, the recipe is identical to that of producing an excellent aged rhum: a great amount of patience and an abundance of passion.
